REQUEST FOR ARGUMENTS
“FOR” OR “AGAINST” THE SPECIAL BUDGET OVERRIDE ELECTION
SAHUARITA UNIFIED SCHOOL DISTRICT NO. 30
Sahuarita Unified School District No. 30 of Pima County, Arizona (the “District”), will hold a special 14% maintenance and operation budget override election on Tuesday, November 8, 2022. The total 14% budget override amount for the first year of the proposed continuation is estimated to be $5,484,134 and would be funded in that year by an estimated $1.38 tax rate per $100 of net assessed valuation used for secondary property tax purposes which is approximately equal to the current secondary tax rate for the existing budget override. The Pima County School Superintendent will be preparing an informational pamphlet that will be mailed to households containing one or more registered electors within the District. Any persons wishing to submit an argument “for” or “against” the proposed 14% budget override (not to exceed 200 words) may do so by mail or hand delivery of the argument to the Pima County School Superintendent’s office, 200 N. Stone Avenue, Tucson, AZ 85701; telephone: (520) 724-8451.
To be included in the informational pamphlet, such argument must be received in the office of the Pima County School Superintendent on or before 5:00 p.m., August 12, 2022. Such argument must be signed and include the name of the District, the author’s name, the name of any entity submitting an argument, address and telephone number. If the argument is submitted by a political committee, it shall contain the sworn statement of the committee’s chairperson or treasurer. If the argument is submitted by an individual and not on behalf of an organization, a political committee or any other group, the person shall submit the argument with a sworn, notarized statement. The entity and author’s name will be printed in the informational pamphlet. The last day to register to vote in order to be eligible to vote in this election is Monday, October 10, 2022. “A FAVOR” O “EN CONTRA” DE LA ELECCIÓN ESPECIAL PARA EL AUMENTO AL PRESUPUESTO
DISTRITO ESCOLAR UNIFICADO NÚM. 30 DE SAHUARITA
El Distrito Escolar Unificado Núm. 30 de Sahuarita del Condado de Pima, Arizona (el “Distrito”), celebrará una elección especial para el aumento de un 14% al presupuesto de mantenimiento y operación el martes 8 de noviembre de 2022. El importe total de un 14% de aumento al presupuesto para el primer año de la continuación propuesta se estima que será de $5,484,134 y sería financiado durante ese año por una tasa de impuestos estimada de $1.38 por $100 de la valoración tasada neta que se utiliza para propósitos de impuestos secundarios sobre la propiedad, que aproximadamente es un monto igual a la tasa de impuestos secundaria actual para el aumento al presupuesto existente. El Superintendente de Escuelas del Condado de Pima preparará un folleto informativo que se enviará por correo a los hogares que cuenten con uno o más electores registrados dentro del Distrito. Cualquier persona que desee presentar un argumento “a favor” o “en contra” del aumento al presupuesto en un 14% propuesto (no debe exceder de 200 palabras) puede enviar el argumento por servicio postal o entregarlo en persona a la oficina del Pima County School Superintendent, 200 N. Para que el argumento sea incluido en el folleto informativo, este debe recibirse en la oficina del Superintendente de Escuelas del Condado de Pima a más tardar el 12 de agosto de 2022, a las 5:00 p. m. Dicho argumento debe firmarse e incluir el nombre del Distrito, el nombre del autor, el nombre de cualquier entidad que presente un argumento, la dirección y número de teléfono. Si el argumento es presentado por un comité político, deberá contener la declaración jurada del presidente o tesorero del comité. Si el argumento es presentado por una persona y no en nombre de una organización, un comité político o algún otro grupo, la persona deberá presentar el argumento con una declaración jurada notariada. El nombre del autor y la entidad se imprimirán en el folleto informativo. El último día para registrarse para sufragar, con el fin de ser elegible para votar en esta elección, es el lunes 10 de octubre de 2022.
