August 2019 WRS Welcome Back Letter

Wrightson School LogoOn behalf of our entire staff, we would like to welcome our new kindergarten students, our returning first through fifth-grade students, and our new middle school students! It is with great honor and much enthusiasm that we publish our first newsletter for the 2019-2020 school year. Much planning and hard work have gone into preparing for a successful school year.

Let me begin by introducing myself! My name is Mrs. Shelly Lizardi and I will be your principal! I am thrilled to welcome you to the 2019-2020 school year and I am looking forward to meeting new faces, revisiting with familiar ones, as well as hearing all about your summer adventures! For those of you who have not met me, I have taught for over 20 years and have been in administration now for 5 years. I am very excited to work together to make this a fabulous new school year!

I would also like to introduce to you our Assistant Principal, Mr. Wil Arias! Mr. Arias has taught for 10 years and has been in administration for 12 years.  He is student-centered and has a patient personality that will be appreciated by our staff, students and families.

All teachers, support staff, office staff, and our custodian have been working diligently on getting ready for the start of the school year.  Whether it has been inputting registration information into the computer, cleaning and maintaining our beautiful campus, or preparing materials for the students, our staff bases each decision on what is best for the students in order to create success for each and every child.

As excited as I am to offer this monthly newsletter, it is the face-to-face interactions that I value most. Please know that we have an open-door policy, and welcome any opportunity to meet with you. We are looking forward to our collaboration in providing a safe and nurturing environment as well as a challenging and diverse curriculum.

Sincerely,

Shelly Lizardi, Principal

Wil Arias, Assistant Principal
