How do I enroll my student in school?

To start the enrollment process, please visit our New Student Registration page for more information. New student registration typically opens the first week of March for the upcoming school year. 

Which school will my child attend?

To view the designated school for your residence, please visit the Boundaries page. 

If you do not reside within any of our schools’ boundaries, please consider applying for open enrollment.

Can my child attend a school other than his/her assigned school?

In accordance with Governing Board Policy JFB – Open Enrollment, students seeking enrollment in a school that is within the school district but outside the attendance area of the pupil’s residence may apply for open enrollment.

Open enrollment must be approved on an annual  basis and is contingent upon the following criteria:

  • availability of space,
  • academic progress,
  • discipline history, and
  • attendance history.

The priority period for open enrollment period is typically mid November through the end of February. 

What are the age requirements for school enrollment?

In accordance with Arizona Revised Statute 15-821, a child must be five years old before September 1st of the current school year.

What kinds of medical requirements are there for enrollment?

For All Grade Levels K-12:

  • (DTaP/DTP) Diphtheria, Tetanus & Pertusis, (DT) Diphtheria & Tetanus or Td: 3-5 doses (except Kindergarten which requires 4-6 doses), At least 1 dose must be after the child’s 4th birthday
  • (IPV/OPV) Polio: 3-4 doses, with the last dose being after the child’s 4th birthday. No more than 4 doses required.
  • (MMR) Measles, Mumps & Rubella: 2 doses, with the 1st dose on/after 1st birthday, 2nd dose must be at least 1 month after 1st dose
  • (HEP B) Hepatitis B: 3 doses, last dose must be after child is 24 weeks of age
  • Varicella (Chicken Pox): 1-2 doses 2nd dose is recommended, but required if 1st dose was given at 13 years old or older

FOR ENTERING GRADES 6th–12th (in addition to immunizations for “ALL GRADES above):

  • Tdap Booster (1 dose) is required for all students in upper grades (6-12) when 5 years have passed since their last dose of tetanus/diptheria containing vaccine. If one dose of Tdap is already received, then the next dose of Td is due in 10 years.
  • Meningococcal vaccine (MV) (1-2 doses) is required for all students age 11 years and older.

Also recommended by the Health Department but not required for enrollment in school at this time:
All Grades: Hepatitis A (2 doses), Varicella (2nd dose if not received already)
Students 11 Years or Older: Human Papiloma Virus (HPV/Guardisil) (3 doses

How do I find out where the bus route is near my house?

You can find available transportation routes online through the InfoFinderi routing system. 

Directions for searching for bus routes:

  • Under SEARCH in the upper left, insert your postal address Ex: 123 W Marvel Ave. 
  • Be sure to view the correct school for your child. If no routes appear under a specific school, try searching “all grades and schools”
  • Route numbers with pick up and drop off times will appear along with the location of the bus stop.
