Planning for the 2021 graduation is underway! The current health metrics and projections for the spring do not indicate a traditional graduation will likely be able to take place. We are hopeful that there will be a significant change in the metrics by May; however, we must move forward with plans for graduation within the parameters of what would be safe for our students and families given the current outlook.
Sahuarita USD is planning for a drive-thru style graduation for 2021 with comparable pomp and circumstance of a traditional graduation. The drive-thru high school graduations will include and allow for:
- A special ceremony to recognize all graduating seniors
- Students walking the “red carpet” and receiving their diplomas on stage
- Professional photography
- More family members attending (2 cars per graduating senior instead of 2 individuals per graduating senior for traditional graduation)
- Livestreaming of the events
