Dear Parents of SMS RT #08 and SHS RT #11 students:
Sahuarita Unified School District is currently experiencing a shortage of bus drivers. As such, it is necessary to expand the temporary merger of SMS Route #08 and SHS Route #11 to the morning route beginning Monday, September 09, 2024, and continuing until such time that we are able to sufficiently staff bus drivers.
SHS students who ride Route #11 will arrive on campus approximately 30 minutes early. Morning provisions for SHS Route #06 students impacted by the merger:
- Students will have access to the SHS cafeteria and the SHS courtyard with staff supervision.
The estimated morning pick-up times are listed below. Please arrive at the stop 10 minutes early to allow for consolidation.

While we deeply regret the imposition this creates, we acknowledge that this route merger is necessary to continue to provide transportation services to our SUSD families safely. We are actively working to recruit bus drivers and continue to explore all options to try to minimize disruption to the extent possible.
