Looking to amplify student involvement and bring WONDER to your classroom? Do you believe that the students should be thinking and working harder than the teacher in any given class? This PD will explore how to best incorporate inquiry-based approaches… regardless of content-area. The course will include topics such as how to develop an inquiry mindset (in educators AND in students), effective questioning techniques (and how to get students creating the questions), different types of inquiry activities (and how they can be used in the classroom), and how to set your classroom and students up for success (in regards to inquiry). This PD was developed based on the POGIL (Process-Oriented Guided Inquiry Learning) model and the work of Trevor Mackenzie (author of “Inquiry Mindset” and “Diving into Inquiry”).
