Participants will learn and practice a variety of strategies that help students build the concepts of addition and subtraction clearly and understandably. We will explore a continuum of activities that are most important and appropriate at each grade level to allow students to develop these skills at a deeper level for long-term retention and future application in all areas of math. We will include games & center activities, as well as the method of “number talks” for teachers to add to their toolbox for helping students develop fluency in addition and subtraction.
