For many years now, the Science of Reading has debunked many teaching methods that are not based on scientific evidence. In this class, teachers will come away with a better understanding of SoR and effective teaching methods. Teachers will discuss the effectiveness of phonemic awareness, intensive phonics instruction, and orthographic mapping. This course will provide an evidence-based best practice approach for teaching foundational reading skills.
