As per Executive Order 2020-51 (as already required by EO 2020-41 and as prescribed by EO 2020-44) free onsite learning opportunities and support services for students who need a place to go during the day must be provided beginning on Monday, August 17, 2020. If in-person learning is not allowed to resume on August 17, 2020, Sahuarita Unified School District will provide a designated space for students to participate in onsite distance learning supervision.
All students who can learn from home should learn from home.
This is not the regular traditional school setting. It is a physical space during periods of online or virtual distance learning for traditional students. It is for children who absolutely need a place to be for supervision, needed school resources, and the ability to reasonably access the school program during standard school hours. Please consider carefully the need for these services, so that we can maximize the purpose of the program, and operate it in the most effective and safe manner possible.
Students granted access will be assigned a designated area within the District, such as the SUSD Auditorium, and will remain assigned to the same designated area for the duration of the time that they participate in onsite distance learning supervision. Please note the assigned designated area may not be at the student’s home school. Parents are responsible to transport their child(ren) to the designated area for onsite distance learning supervision.
Students will be spaced for social distancing, face coverings will be required, adherence to school dress will be required, and expectations for student conduct during the school day will be expected. Hygiene protocols and social distancing will be strictly adhered to at all times. Lunches will be available for purchase onsite.
Supervision will be provided by SUSD staff, and onsite support services will be available to a limited number of students with specific needs. In-person instruction led by classroom teachers will not be available and extracurricular activities will not be provided. It is highly encouraged that students who utilize this service bring additional items to work on in the event that they finish classwork before the end of the day. Please note students may be asked to bring a device from home and/or headphones to support learning during onsite distance supervision.
Please contact your child’s school to inquire about available spaces for onsite distance learning supervision.
