Report an Absence  

Attendance is a vital part of your academic success. Arriving at your virtual classes and meetings on time and remaining engaged for the entirety of your scheduled school day, allows you to maximize your instructional opportunities and prepares you for future expectations.

Elementary students can expect a combination of live whole-group instruction, independent practice, and/or small-group instruction. During independent practice, students will have access to class materials and videos in the classroom, and this portion of the class may be completed offline. Teachers do not take formal attendance for online learning. Parents are required to keep a daily log of time spent on each class, including online and offline work, and submit this log daily. Even though teachers do not formally mark students absent or tardy, they will be monitoring students to ensure participation. It is the expectation that students are logging in daily and participating in online instruction. Attendance minutes, submitted by parents, should accurately reflect the time a student spends in live instruction as well as offline for homework. Students will be withdrawn if AOI minutes are not submitted on the 10th consecutive day.

K-5 Attendance Requirements

Student engagement online and independently is expected daily. Attendance submission is expected daily. Attendance submission includes both online and independent work time.
